Hope all of our readers are doing well! Beebop has been very poorly with teething and a virus. We can’t thank the NHS 111 service enough for being so helpful when Beebop came out in a non blanching rash. She’s on the mend now and today was our first day out in nearly a week! We went to the wonderful Wardleworths (follow their Twitter here!) in St Helens for the launch of Pugalugs, written by Jessica Parish.
Pugalugs: The Beginning (based on a true story!) is the first in a series of Pugalugs books and follows Pugalugs as he opens his eyes for the first time, takes his very first steps and discovers his favourite flavour of food!
Pugalugs is just adorable and we’re sure most puppy owners will identify with the more fun aspects of living with a puppy, such as the chewing, the exploring in the places they shouldn’t be and how much they like to eat! New parents to mini humans will probably also identify with a lot of puppy traits too!
As it is the first of many, it’s a really sweet insight into a puppy’s first few weeks on Planet Earth which is great for children to learn about puppyhood.
The illustrator, Helen Poole, has done brilliant work with the book and we love the changes in Pugalug’s expressions as he learns and plays! The illustrations are really eye catching and Beebop was drawn to it straight away!
Wardleworths is a lovely little bookshop and it’s always great to support independent retailers. It was great to see the launch well attended, with cake and a very special guest!
The lovely Jessica has been really kind and donated a book as a competition prize! All you have to do is retweet this tweet or like and share this post on Facebook to win your very own signed copy of Pugalugs (actual Pugalugs not included!). Entries must be in by 6pm 31/1/2015 and winners will be notified that night. Good luck!
