To celebrate the 15th anniversary of The Gruffalo, Delamere Forest in Cheshire are hosting the fantastic Gruffalo Trail! It’s a 1.5 mile walk through stunning woodland on the hunt to find the Gruffalo. Here are some photos of our trip!

At the start of The Gruffalo Trail
The trail was guided by signs such as this one, featuring facts and information, a question and an activity to complete. Obviously, Beebop was too young for the activities but there was lots of other children joining in who looked like they were having an amazing time!
This was one of my favourite signs.

His favourite food is owl ice cream . . .

A snake saw the mouse, and the mouse looked good.
But who is this creature with terrible claws?
And terrible teeth in his terrible jaws?
He has knobbly knees and turned out toes
And a poisonous wart at the end of his nose
His eyes are orange, his tongue is black
He has purple prickles all over his back
“Oh help! Oh no! It’s a Gruffalo!”
We really enjoyed our day out. I wanted to go to the cafe to try out the tea and cake (all in the name of research, obviously!) but with a combination of weekend trips and 300 plus runners there for an event, there wasn’t much room! It was £6 parking for all day, lots of families had picnics and had taken their dogs and horses for an outing too. The Gruffalo Trail is on until the 15th of September, then The Gruffalo’s Child will be arriving in October. We can’t wait!
